So about the #retrobright mice… it didn’t go that well. First pic is how one of them looked after the process. Lots of very visible stains. I’ve read to get rid of them I need to reapply the peroxide, this time without wrapper. It has to be continuously re-applied to avoid drying out. So I did, every 10-20 minutes for 2-3 hours. It got… better? But not great. Yet, at least. Second pic: on the left the mouse that went through the second treatment, on the right the one that didn’t. #retroApple

This is the product I’m using. Sold on Amazon. Any brand will do but make sure it’s 40 Vol., 12%. Just put plenty of it, spread and wrap, and leave it under direct sun light (not behind a window as that blocks UVs required for the process to work). Rotate every 30m. Wrapper keeps the cream from drying up.
(Sorry for the previous photo including the wrapper, I can’t take it while unwrapped since by gloves were full of peroxide and no idea what that does to the iPhone outer layers)

This is the same part, after just one morning. Only two side markings visible that are likely washable. Absolutely amazing!

First experience with #retrobright! Will it work? Who knows.
The weather is still partially cloudy so sunlight occasionally goes away, and my apartment has limited exposure (around lunch time no direct light hits the balconies as the sun is aligned with the side of the building, and I have to move it from north to south balcony). Additionally it all goes away just past 5PM as it gets shaded by a taller building.
And I may not have used enough of the magic peroxide cream.

I wonder should it be considered a serious breach of honesty in the #retrocomputing community to fail to report previous retrobrighting attempts, when selling on a piece of equipment. Buyers shouldn't have to ask.
I'd certainly want to know. For me, it could be make or break for the sale.

La verdad que es un trabajo que bien te puede llevar una semana si no sabes lo que haces.
Pero mínimo unos días. También es importante no mezclar mil mierdas y disponer de sol. Justo yo he tardado más porque no he tenido buenos días de sol estos días. He tenido calima en Madrid.
La calima no era tan frecuente hace años me temo. Ahora es normal.

No es 100% como seguramente era originalmente pero se le ha quitado.el amarilleo al 90% por lo menos (o más).

El agua oxigenada tradicional no es muy efectiva con la parte más amarilla del monitor.
Digamos que tras más de 24 horas el resultado no es para nada el esperado. Algo se ha quitado pero no me sirve.
He optado por agua oxigenada de peluquería (peróxido de hidrógeno al 40% concretamente). He ido a una tienda de productos de peluquería porque esto en una peluquería te sale seguro que más caro si es que te lo venden.
Veamos que tal ahora al sol.

I exposed the reactor core once again to rearrange the parts.
Now the front part is face down, fully covered by peroxide but not lit by UV. Will it still get brighter this way?
The bottom part is still half covered, and will need to be flipped every few hours.
I could just add tap water to rise the level, but it would also dilute the solution, and I still want to #retrobright the #Amiga 3000
front panel and the mouse later. -

#retrobright one of my #Amiga 600 cases today using hair dye.
UV-Index was high here today therefore I just put it outside and let "the magic" happen.
I think the outcome is quite okay.
