OK, I get it. This series was supposed to be five seasons but it got renewed, so they used Season 8 to burn off all the ideas they couldn't find a way to make fit earlier that were too good for the bin, and Season 7 as connecting tissue into the unhinged. #Archer did something similar after George Coe died.
