Yesterday, at #ijcai, Micheal Wooldridge gave a talk about "How to Speak to the Public about Artificial Intelligence". Good talk, interesting stories and very funny.
Morality: "if you don't inform the public about AI, then someone who knows even less than you will."
Keep in mind that this is addressed to a public of people having or pursing a PhD in the field.

Un peu vieux (ça devait être posté ici il y a trois ans en théorie 👀 ), mais le bonhomme proposait une visualisation intéressante mettant en évidence les états déterminants dans le vote des présidentielles États-Uniennes.

Interesting #popularisation of a new #algorithm to solve the maximum flow and minimum cost problems in #GraphTheory. It brings me back to studying operations research, something I always regret not learning more of. As many problems in the field, interest began in the Soviet Union, in this case to plan and analyse its rail system. https://www.quantamagazine.org/researchers-achieve-absurdly-fast-algorithm-for-network-flow-20220608/
