  1. Wow, this turned out to be very pretty!

This is an animated mathematically ideal simulation of the growth of sunflower seeds. 🌻

Generation algorithm: Each seed moves at a fixed velocity from the center and growing in size proportional to the square root of its distance from the center. Each seed spawns once every frame and the seed's fixed velocity's angle is a multiple of the golden angle (~137.5°).

  2. An alien plant. I’m using geonodes for this but geonodes is terrible for generating geometry, oddly enough. I have never used python scripting in Blender (oddly enough) but this seems like a good application of it, I’ll probably give that a shot. Problem is, the resulting geometry isn’t dynamic and non-destructively editable. #phyllotaxis #blender

  3. Hmm. My phyllotactic quads are not quads in reality. They are composed of four spiral segments. I should be able to get the shape right. I’m still finding nodes pretty difficult to express complex things in but it’s becoming easier. I’m organizing my trees a lot better and making good use of node groups, which seems to be pretty essential to maintaining sanity of the network and one’s mind. #blender #geometrynodes
