Hello everyone. I'm The Owlbear. I've been here for like, a bit, and decided I finally needed to do a proper intro post.
I'm into many nerdy things, particularly TTRPGS, Video Games, and Science Fiction. A few of my favorite things:
* #Pathfinder2e and #Golarian in general.
* #Murderbot
* #Terraria (I suck at it tho)
* #Fallout but not 76 (or any other multiplayer only game for that matter)
* A very specific and short list of #Anime
* The two #Alien movies (Alien and its sequel, Aliens). I'm so glad they never made more.
* #TTRPGs that aren't D&D 5e (earlier editions are cool tho)
* #IndieGames
* #GameDesign
* #Linux and #Gnome, particularly #Arch #VoidLinux #AlpineLinux and #Fedora
* #LGBTQIA2S
* #Owls
* #Bears
* #Owlbears
* The #DCEU - now that James Gunn is in chargeI like other stuff too.
I don't like hate, that crap they call AI these days, trolls, and being shitty just to be shitty.
I believe in love, compassion, empathy, and generally not being a shit person.

The "golden spider-duck" joke in #MST3K's "Horror of Party Beach" reminds me of a #DnD pet peeve: Gamers who think #Gygaxian "combination monsters" like #Owlbears are too silly.
You know what? Centaurs, chimeras, and pegasuses are silly combination monsters, too, but they don't seem silly to most Westerners because those monsters are part of a culture we grow up with. "Silly monster" is just a cultural bias against monsters you didn't grow up with.

I've finally watched Dungeon & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, and I now understand why I was seeing all those owlbears staring at me in my local stores earlier this year. I enjoyed the movie greatly and will be watching it again tonight. I didn't see it when it was in theaters because the thought of sitting in a dark, crowded cinema with a bunch of strangers still horrifies me. I'm not ready and prefer to watch in the comfort of my home.
