I'm concerned I'm teaching my child the wrong lessons about how to defend themself if faced with someone who wishes to do them harm.

For me personally at least, shouting "PAUSE" and then consuming 3 entire wheels of cheese and a jug of milk before adopting my fighting stance has put most people off of wanting to tangle with me.

That may just be a "me thing" though.
