Picked up the OM 100-400 mm f/5-6.3 beast during the amazing 35 per cent off refurbished sale which #OMSystem did at the beginning of the year, and decided to see what it could do now that I finally have a clear night with a sliver of the waxing crescent moon.

And... wow! The 800 mm full frame equivalent reach is just... <3

/> I used the #OMSystem #OM1MarkII's high res mode to create a stacked photo of the night sky, which gave my shot extra details and lower noise at 50 megapixels. Scaling it back down to 20 megapixels to match the single shot foreground resolution helped make it look even less noisy, as well as made it look sharper.

I merged the single shot foreground with the stacked shot of the stars, and added some noise across the frame to make the noise pattern more even across the whole frame.

I picked up an OM System OM-1 Mark II with the OM 12-40 mm f/2.8 Pro II lens during the Black Friday deals when it was even cheaper than the Mark I kit with the lens.

I'm loving how light it is compared to if I were lugging around my Sony A7R IV with the 24-70 mm f/2.8 GM!

Sure, low light is noticeably not as good, but when paired with my Leica Q3 on holidays, I think it could form part of quite a compelling gear set option.
