    "Vor 2 J. machten Berichte über ein gehacktes Wasserwerk in den USA die Runde. Nun wachsen die Zweifel...eine viermonatige Untersuchung des Vorfalles ergeben hätte, "dass da gar nichts war, kein Beweis für einen Fremdzugriff, und dass es wahrscheinlich derselbe Angestellte war, der zum Helden erklärt wurde, der auf seiner Tastatur herumgehauen" und das Problem damit ausgelöst habe."

    Remember when a hacker attempted to poison the #Oldsmar water supply by upping the NaOH levels? Seems that it probably wasn't a hack after all.

    Obviously there's been a lot of other shit going on in #infosec the last ten days, and I was traveling when this first came out, but - how the hell has a report indicating the #Oldsmar water treatment #ICS #OT incident was basically a fraud cooked up by local law enforcement NOT received any attention or follow-up from major media entities and other investigators in this field?

    L’8 febbraio 2021 il sindaco di #Oldsmar, città della Florida, ha annunciato con una conferenza stampa “un’intrusione illegale nel sistema comunale di trattamento dell’acqua”. L'intrusione consentiva di entrare nel sistema online di controllo degli agenti chimici usati per depurare l’acqua potabile della città.

    Un hacker si è introdotto nel sistema di un impianto di trattamento delle acque nella città della Florida di #Oldsmar modificando l'impostazione dell'idrossido di sodio dell'impianto a un livello potenzialmente pericoloso.
    Ma l'hacker non era solo: la società di sicurezza industriale #Dragos ha rilevato una sospetta intrusione diversa avvenuta lo stesso giorno in uno dei computer della #Oldsmar Water Treatment Facility, forse una botnet.
