Having first encountered Dennis O’Keefe as a lead in gritty noir dramas, I’m still surprised to find him starring in light-hearted romantic comedies of the late 1930s.

Here he is with Maureen O’Sullivan in “Hold That Kiss” (1938)

Tarzan and His Mate (1934), one of the most notorious of all pre-code movies. Considered brazen and shameless at the time. Until fairly recently was only available in a savagely cut version, with all pre-code naughtiness removed. Including Jane's nude scenes.

Possibly the best of all the Tarzan movies, and one of the greatest of all jungle adventure films.
