A day where:

• I completed my full morning constitutional without dying
• I didn't need a nap to survive.
• Met with a friend and didn't collapse with fatigue when I got home.
• No more than the usual coughing.

#LoveMakeShare day 26: We're in the home stretch for this month. What's something that brought you joy recently?

I just (still less than twelve hours ago!) got home from SOAK, the Oregon regional Burning Man event. Much more about it at some point today when I debrief on my burn thread, but these burns bring me SO MUCH life. My brain is fizzing over with ideas, both new projects and iterations on existing ones.

My everyday carry game is weak next to certain people I know. Phone, chapstick, reusable straw, transit card, N95 mask. I'm one of the few people I know still masking in indoor public spaces. COVID is very real and *will* mess you up and I will never stop protecting myself and my loved ones from it.

But weekends like this one are how I've been charging my creative batteries these last few years, so the disruption is less "in the way" and more "part of the experience".

Oh and it's a shame I only have one loom.

#LoveMakeShare 20: It’s apparently National Streaming Day. Do you stream your creative work? Why or why not?

I don't. In the "cons" column, it's a bunch of work, my process isn't very streamable, smut presents all sorts of challenges on streaming platforms, it adds an obligation to others into my hobby, I'm not much of a performer, building an audience is hard.

But most of all, in the "pros" column, there's ... absolutely nothing?

If not, Adventures of the Gummi Bears I'm sure was one. Probably the root of my love for inhabited old trees 😆

I think my maternal grandmother was the most foundationa. She did embroidery and knitting and crochet, and I guess she's the person from whom I learned that people *can* make things.

And if I'm honest, I have to mention Wendy Pini, because Elfquest was the first comic I saw that was actually beautiful, and made me want to draw.

... Browser to watch youtube videos?
More seriously, probably Photoshop Elements, which is what I use to clean up scans and which I print from.

Outside of work I'm only working with physical stuff, apart from a bit of digital assist, like printing square grids.

Godot and Daz3D are both essential to my process - Daz3D for the images, and Godot for everything else.
