Tam Lin is Scottish folk ballad where our heroine saves our hero from the Queen of the fairies. It's a #Fantasy but there elements of the mythical, Scottish Folk, naturalist spirit and oral balladry

I got a new follower on Bluesky either because of my response to today's #LGBTQWriteAThon or because of my Forbes / WaPo snark. Not :queer100: sure which.
First question: Do you have anything on Amazon yet?
Oh no. You boosted one of my posts with a UBL link that does have an Amazon link in it.
Do I really have to specifically flog Amazon links?
I do on Fediverse sometimes but Bluesky has a punishing 300 character limit. It's hard enough to fit a promo and a single book link into a post without doing two.
Fucking Amazon. Ugh.

I make some art cards and leather goods. Best advice I can give is to invest in a really good pair of full-shank scissors. Might cost you a bit up front but you'll enjoy them for a lifetime. These Kai scissors are incredibly sharp and durable, and I LOVE them. 🥰

#LGBTQWriteAThon Sept. 20 Prompt: "Fact Friday time! Share a random fact about your setting!"
The bird city of Whiterock is built atop crumbled remains of a coastal human city. Bird architecture, made from materials that birds can carry, augments & customizes what is there. It's a multicultural, busy place of commerce between land, sea, and sky. A cadre of black-backed gulls keeps the peace.

#LGBTQWriteAThon Sept 19 Prompt: "Do you have a favorite thing about your setting? What do you like about it?"
I like that Whiterock's setting is devoid of humans and birds are free to own the world. The remains of human civilization provide resources for the evolving bird society to build upon. But they adhere to different morals than humans, including a sense of strength in diversity & little prejudice for relationship choices.

Sept 13 Prompt: Share a fact about your characters:
I keep true to the biology of my bird characters in Whiterock. So a bald eagle of 5y is adult, so too is a barn owl of 1y or a raven of 3y. They share some foods but maintain their natural preferences, just not eating other sapient avian species in the case of predators.

Sept 12:
Prompt: How do you go about character development?I start w/a few solid chars & develop others per needs of story. Chars evolve as I act them out in my head in mix w/other chars & external forces. New technique I'm using is imagining candid The Office-style interviews w/them at various stages of the story. Pretty fun! #LGBTQWriteAThon #queerwriters
