Every year, checking the water level for our Christmas tree is a minor hassle. It's hard to get close enough to see it, especially when you're refilling and don't want the water to overflow. This year, a hollow plastic ornament fell into the stand, and I realized it helps out by acting as a float. I wish this had happened years ago.

One of my kids is celebrating their birthday today. It's about a month late, as they were waiting for the perfect day: no school, no extracurriculars, no plans other than just enjoying a full day of birthday fun. They requested either Timbits or Froot Loops for breakfast; somehow, we ended up with 4 ridiculous breakfast cereals.
