A young man from Rivne region was detained at a checkpoint in the capital for transporting 9 spotted deer in the back of his van without any documents or permits. One of the deer was found dead. The 23-year-old driver claimed he was transporting the animals to a farm in the Kyiv region on the request of an acquaintance. The man has been detained and the surviving deer have been taken to a temporary shelter at the city zoo. #AnimalWelfare #IllegalTransport
