CW: Hard Sun major spoiler
Despite its flaws, there were some really strong elements in #HardSun, starting with its underlying premise. It never reaches its full potential, probably because really exploring its themes were deemed too bleak.
There's some good drama and tension but no significant examination of the literal existential threat; it's all surface.
I was underwhelmed by the reveal, which failed to convey the magnitude of the onset of such a catastrophic event.
Good acting all around 👍🏿

The latest instance of this is a husband promising his pregnant wife that he would protect her, the fetus, and their daughter and "no one will hurt you, ever. And if they try, I'll kill them".
This is after he's nearly been killed by MI5, had his ass beat by his partner, and he and his wife were separately abducted by MI5 and she was a second from being shot and killed.
He can't even protect himself, and sure isn't going to kill all of MI5.
Just ridiculous and lazy writing, #HardSun.
