For the past while, I've only really been posting to welcome new campers, or to update you all with modding decisions and server updates, with the occasional "Fedi 101" post thrown in there.

But I also used to boost comics content from all around the Fedi as well as from our campers to share the love and get more eyes on neat things.

The question is: Would you rather I stick to the server updates/modding decisions/Fedi 101 posts/welcome posts? Or would you also like to see regular boosts of comics content?

Alternatively, we can also create a new "Curator" account solely for boosting, if you'd rather this account stick with ComicsCamp.Club server-specific posts.

Any other suggestions/opinions would be greatly appreciated! :camp_counselor:

A couple announcements:

I've re-implemented the condensed notifications CSS after finding an updated version fixing an issue that was introduced in Mastodon v2.8. You can find the code here for details: https://github.com/psydwannabe/mastodon-snippets/blob/master/CSS/condense-notifications.css Let me know if you have any issues with it!

I've noticed that the CSS code that shortens and minimizes some notifications in the Notifications feed seems to no longer be working as expected. As such, I'll be disabling the custom CSS for now until I can find a fix.

This means people will no longer be able to "request registration" from our Instance Homepage; they will require an invite from a current ComicsCamp.Club member in order to register an account here.

This is so we can let our community grow organically through word of mouth. Don't be afraid to invite your friends!

Today I took the initiative to preemptively block the two Gab domains I know about (.com and .ai) before they switch their software over to Mastodon in July.

Hopefully this means we won't see a lick of them when they enter the :fediverse: Fediverse.

I'll continue to block all future Gab domains as I become aware of them.

I'm here to ask for your help: I'd like to come up with a hashtag people can use to tag their comics-themed shop talk. Script writing, thumbnails, story help, page critiques, asking for resources… if all these things were united under a common hashtag that we all used it would go a long way to connecting various comics and narrative art creators with each other.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good hashtag to use?

I've changed the original CoC to be titled "Moderation Policy", and added a new section below it called "Community Code of Conduct" which seeks to give examples of how to conduct yourself in the community to foster a safe and supportive environment.
