the first time Drexciya played in Italy my partner and I do the warm up. The grandeur of this Maestro in Italy was not yet understood, and we were among the few in Italy to play these things. The event was organized in Bologna at the millenium club. Epic night. 2003. After finishing our set it was an honor for us to receive your congratulations.

Side 2 has a locked groove at the beginning so you just hear silence unless you catch the groove closer in. It also ends with a locked groove and there is a large gap of deadwax before the second track aptly titled “Wavejumper” in essence you have to manually jump the wave to get to that track. The track title info is etched into that deadwax in between cuts. This is art.

This block focused on #illustration in album and #comicbook art. The highlight was hearing #AbdulHaqq talk about some of his cover designs for #DetroitTechno releases and the books of #Drexciya which are very scarce. More importantly he had a few copies for sale! We got both volumes and 2 prints!

Todays slice of total genius is from techno and electro pioneers Drexciya. 'Black Sea' is a track I loooove playing out - just pure distorted energy with elegant warm pads.
I would pitch it down a bit though, it was a bit too fast for what I normally play.
