My most listened to artist in 2022 was Brijean. Elements of funk, disco, & dream pop with depth. Brijean plays percussion, sings & writes. Her main instrument is a set of congas, inherited from Neil Diamond's steel drum player. She is in the lineage of Marvin Gaye's percussionist, Ms Bobbye Hall (Inner City Blues!). Brijean is also a visual artist, and her partner #DougieStu is an incredible musician. Music that makes you feel good, based on a cool aesthetic.
