Le immagini sono ispirate dal film "Qualcuno volò sul nido del cuculo", uno dei grandi ritratti della libertà umana. La musica, di Jack Nitzsche, è il tema principale del film, rimanda alla fragile linea tra innocenza e follia.
Non solo la storia su un reparto psichiatrico; il film è una storia di ribellione e dignità, il prezzo di essere diversi in un mondo che teme la differenza.
La libertà è fragile, umana, a volte meravigliosamente folle.
