I’m using my iPhone without a case and I managed to drop it for the first time today on a stone ground. It took it pretty well and got away with some minor scratches to the metal frame on the right side and nothing else even though it landed face first on the ground. The display is still flawless, that new Ceramic Shield glass is really great. I’m still annoyed it happened to me because I still don’t understand how it just fell out of my hand when I grabbed it from the table.

For whatever reason, the topics of buying old phones and going caseless have popped up this week, right after I bought a new-in-box iPhone 13 mini, so it’s past time for me to address that. And yes, it is the exact same model, color, and capacity I already had. Why? It was meant to be my new phone to let my wife take my old phone. Instead, I jumped directly to giving her the new phone in my old case.

Weight of the cases and % to phone weight:
- Peak Design 40g (20%)
- Mous 28g (14%)
- Beats case 24g (12%)
- Pitaka 18g (9%)The point is Apple is trying its best to use premium materials (titanium) to make the device lighter and thinner. Meanwhile, we simply put a case on it.
Therefore, this year, I am going #caseless
