Just back from a week in the Peak District. These amazing stalactites are from Treak Cliff Cavern, near Castleton. It’s an amazing cave system that you can walk around with an audio guide app to tell you what’s what. The caverns were discovered by lead miners back in the 18th century. The stalactites shown here are from the Aladdin’s Cave section of the system and have been dated to be around 110,000 years old. #caves #geology #bluejohn #stalactites #derbyshire #UK #TreakCliffCavern
