Mr Cardinal’s red plumage looks better today! Maybe he’s just been slowly molting.

So, there’s this patchy red feathered cardinal who’s been coming here to get peanuts, and I finally managed to get a pic of him in the rain today. Not sure if he’s molting, but his plumage hasn’t changed since I first spotted him a few weeks ago.

It WAS a hawk!
I just spotted a Cooper’s hawk in the tree. Chickadees are calling the warnings in the crabapple tree now.

#BirdCallOut Not one, but two Carolina Wrens just popped onto the fence right outside the window next to my computer! Unmistakable white eyebrow stripe. First ones I've seen since moving here in May. So exciting!

The other day, I saw this female house sparrow in one of the elm saplings in pots, plucking the yellowed leaves off the branches. It was fascinating to watch. A bunch of yellow elm leaves are now on the ground. What a cute little arborist!! 🥰🐥🪴🍂
