For those familiar with the #ArkLaTex region of the U.S., this #movie presents such an incredibly accurate picture of the regionalisms associated with religious life that some might be in disbelief to know Mr. Duvall was not raised in Southern Baptist or Pentecostal practices. The character E.F. so complexly encapsulates the Southern white male need to define the purpose of self in relation to religion, family, and society that Mr. Duvall seems to leave no aspect of the character unexplored.
