Sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus)
Though a sparrowhawk has been seen hovering over a nearby park, I didn't expect to see one first drinking from our suburban garden pond, then cooling itself down in the spray of the pond water feature. It stayed around for over 40 minutes, including catching and eating a rodent which was crossing the rear boundary of the garden. I just happened to look out into the garden at the right time.
