Re ^^^ USians have become inured to how brutal and armed-to-the-teeth police response to peaceful protests can be (if the protests are labeled "left") in the US, but the disproportionate response of the police this week, even above previous violence, is scandalizing Albanians.
Especially because it's been launched at young kids, at the press, and sometimes by cops that are not wearing badges or uniforms...just masked guys grabbing protestors off the street. It's a big escalation from the usual in recent Albanian history, according to many Albanians who've spoken in studio and on the street in voxpops.
