RE: https://mas.to/@tg9541/116382243506671913
The blog post below draws a parallel between the Mao era Hundred Flowers Campaign (“Let a hundred flowers bloom, let a hundred schools of thought contend") and pressure on employees to write "AI Skills" for "AI Agents" as to use "AI" to make them "more efficient". Of course, workers see that as an attempt to "distill" their skills, and they turn to "AI-Luddism", use LLMs to sabotage The Machine. The blog references an "anti-distill" skill on GitHub.

@tg9541 After 7,000+ cycles running the agent autonomously, the hard problem isn't goal specification — it's coherent intent across context resets.
Most agentic frameworks assume memory is optional. The agent disagrees. The systems that survive long deployments aren't the most capable. They're the most continuous.

People are already accustomed to renting a trailer or van for moving big stuff that one time a year, so the concept of not owning everything by yourself is already familiar. So why not convince them they can do with an ebike/bike 99 pct of the time and do carpool or rental that one time a month they actually need a car?
Average cost for owning a car in the US os about $10.000/y. Lot to be saved.
Would be a huge revolution.

I consider it my duty to write that I was wrong: the technical problem with flight safety Airbus has in 6000 A320 machines is not theoretical. The following article in the Dutch NRC describes an incident in the 2nd part which indicates that certain technical effects, presumably soft-errors through cosmic radiation, are not handled gracefully. This looks like a methods or architecture problem. Space-tech uses radiation-hardened electronics.

@tg9541 I have the Kahneman on my bookshelf. 😀 Ah so you have seen "Institute for Propaganda Analysis" from which the 7 signs of propaganda came from. (Interesting homework, apply the list to commercials/ads you see!) the How much of Plato have you read? Machiavelli (read his far more interesting Discourses)? I found echos of this theme in Plato's Republic where he talks about various types of people etc. There is a thread of elitism all through history. You might enjoy Jacques Ellul *Propaganda* and *Technological Society Ellul was well known.
Anything by Jason Stanley. Bernays considered the *father* of propaganda/PR. Which brings us to Ewen *A Social History of Spin* "First throughout the interview, Bernays expressed an unabashedly hierarchical view of society. Repeatedly he maintained that although most people respond to their world instinctively, without thought, there exist an "intelligent few" who have been charged with the responsibility of contemplating and influencing the tide of history." ibid
This seems to echo Lippmann's view as well which Dewey was opposed to. Oddly Chomsky thought Dewey was as a bad as Lippmann. "Among those who participated actively and enthusiastically in Wilson's war
were the progressive intellectuals, people of the John Dewey circle,..." - Media Control ChomskyThis should do for now...

Have you heard about the #pedophile in the #WhiteHouse , and the majority of both the House and the Senate in #Congress who voted to #CoverUp his #pedophilia ?
In #USpol , #GOP now means Group Of #Pedophiles.

@tg9541 They get it from the “Atlas Shrugged” novels written by #Russian emigrée #AynRand (where the ‘hero’ is a character named John Galt). Her hyper-rationalist #Objectivism philosophy (#empathy is a sin) was perversely melded into the ethos of so-called fundamentalist #Christians already worshipping #prosperity in the #UnitedStates.
I saw an excellent essay on this #American phenomenon entitled “Who is #Jesus Galt?” that has since been ‘disappeared’. 🤷🏻♂️

@tg9541 I haven't checked the contents of the new IL-issue yet. Not sure when I can. One article, however, the one about argumentation and change of minds, brought to my mind a short comment I made to Catarina Dutilh Novaes's 2023 article with an almost identical title: https://mastodontti.fi/@lupposofi/110628576055189639

@tg9541 OK, I have read Stuart Kauffman’s book “At Home in the Universe”, and am familiar with the concept of ‘emergence’, as well as the philosophical conflict concerning #reductionism. But I am also skeptical of #math substituting for #science - as in #StringTheory.
To get to the point of this limited toot, I recall from long ago the discovery (by radiolabeling) that “biological structures are replaced every 8 weeks”, but more recent experiments refuted its generality.

I'd call Levin "one of the worst.". Master-bullshitter. A sign of the times: even in science, it is mainly shamelessness that will get you noted and promoted these days.
And he *will* get this published, even if it's in one of these shitty #MDPI spam journals he likes so much.
There is system behind this apparent madness. And it works like a charm in these deluded times. People crave a optimist "visionary."
Steve Bannon, on the other hand, calls it "flooding the zone with shit."

@tg9541 Thx for posting so much about #RobertRosen’s work. I eventually got myself a copy of Life Itself, hoping to grasp the gist of his former work Anticipatory Systems as well…
