Finally got to doing 25th day of #AdventOfCode today and thus collected all 50 stars of this year. 🎉
Now I just need to get back to day 24 and write a proper solution (as I only did it partly in code, partly eye-balling and manually composing the answer; I used not-so-AI, I guess).

Managed to get my Dijsktra-like solution to run below 50 ms for part 2, and ~6 ms for part 1. Probably could shed some more ms, but I think that’s pretty good already! #RustLang delivers.

Whew, finally got a proper solution for part 2 (ie. not just getting the result from wxMaxima).
I tried rounding the result – but that got me a number too high by 1 (my solution produced a float ending in .8). Not sure if that’s some numerical precision problem on f64 or the “official” solution uses floor-rounding.
Anyway, the exercise made me remember some linear algebra and allowed me to learn nalgebra crate basics.

And for Irish, Gearóid Ó Nualláin really didn’t like mistakes regarding this.
“Is é Séadna (…) a bhí air” is wrong because it suggests “Séadna” refers to a person, not to a name. ‘is é Séadna X’ means ‘X and Séadna are the same person’. The sentence must be ‘Is Séadna a bhí air’ to give a name.

I watched #Project_Hail_Mary the movie and am very disappointed. The movie was a fun comedy but not the #SciFi I expected. Hollywood isn’t ready to show any math or proper science talk on screen – even when that’s the very point of the story.
They never explained how they managed to get 20 Mkg of astrophage, the main character… isn’t that bright at all…

Today I tried #ShineStacker (https://shinestacker.wordpress.com) – new open source focus stacker and it works! Stacked my hand-held fly shots on default settings with no problems, something I couldn’t achieve with Hugin tools (but my #Olympus #em5mark3 could with OOC jpeg).
