A comment by Linus Torvalds during the AI cybersecurity news raised a new question. Some programmers use AI-assisted programming excessively while others find little value in it. Studies mentioned in this column claim these tools do not increase productivity so why do some programmers work long hours with them? Perhaps they are addicted.
