@failedLyndonLaRouchite Congratulations, you are another proof for Fred Clark's law. No, you can't be THAT ignorant, except deliberately and maliciously.
Luckily there are still human jews, who have decency and thus are opposing zionism, opposing harassing, displacing and murdering people - ANY PEOPLE for ANY REASON. #NeverAgain #NeverAgainForEveryone

@failedLyndonLaRouchite And we need them to get that experience running campaigns for forward-looking candidates, not the Blue Dogs of yesteryear who no longer have anything to offer voters that makes them look different from Rs. We need to build the case to WV that the rich oligarchs who run our state need to be given the boot and people who genuinely care about public service and good governance should be given a chance.
That will take more than one election cycle, and it will take fighting each election to win it even when the odds seem insurmountable. Because maybe this year they are, but if we fight hard and lose this time, we learn and get better and can win next time.
And that does take money. We need campaigns that can hire staffers so we develop professional talent back up in our state.
I don't begrudge anyone thinking this particular campaign might not be worth it, but we do need help here. #WestVirginia #USPol

@failedLyndonLaRouchite @TheComfortableSpotPodcast Russia is bad. Iran is bad. Hamas are bad. Etc etc. But they don’t get the active support of my (and most western) governments like the murderous genocidal terrorist state of #Israel which does.

Some people want to believe the far right is about hate. But I have maintained this not the case for a long time: The hate is only a tool, not the core.
Hate functions as an enabler of an ultra-strong group #identity. It is the wedge that pushes people into one unified hierarchy of violence under one leader.
The unity is the point, hate only carries the water. -
@failedLyndonLaRouchite You'd be surprised, a large percentage of them are successful! 😊

@failedLyndonLaRouchite My Dad worked for the #ITU and then the #UNDP as an electrical engineer in the #thirdWorld. One of the highlights of his life was to establish enough engineering schools in Africa that an uninterrupted telephone call could be made from Egypt to SA and he could see that this would be an on-going facility. So much for the UN being a “tool of the USA”. #unitedNations

I graduated from Brown in 1970, but never went to the Hummocks before it closed the same year. Sorry I missed it.
I love a traditional rockweed firepit RI clambake — steamed lobster, clams, mussels, corn, potatoes — and had three by McGrath’s for company events.

@failedLyndonLaRouchite I totally get that. The intent behind my 🐘 was precisely to bring that into the current 'narrative'. The #geo-political & #realpolitic threads re: #gaza #israel #palestine are 'useful' to the largely white, christian elites who run 'our' media'. Would they be the same elites who have a vested interest in 'military' solutions?

@failedLyndonLaRouchite Exactly. Relativity tied a bunch of strange results together in an elegant way. The same applies to some of the other examples on my list—e.g. the reason the Alvarez hypothesis gained widespread acceptance relatively quickly is that none of the other proposed mechanisms for the #KPg #extinction (formerly #KT) fit the rather odd data.

@failedLyndonLaRouchite Don't forget the #PhonePhreaks who got their kicks tripping up telephone exchanges by sending their own 2600 Hz tones down those old #POTS (Plain Old Telephone System) lines.
Way before my time, actually, but it inspired @2600 Magazine, which was a great font of knowledge on lots of more recent geeky things.

CW: CW: it's actually worse
@failedLyndonLaRouchite @Bronwyn
Sadly, no. Not false the 🛋️ bit. AP _withdrew_ their story about it not being true as it's from his first book, page 180. Totally. #Couched. 💯 🤢

@failedLyndonLaRouchite I use Beyond Compare for *source* comparison. As a #technicalwriter I author in #DITA which is an xml specialization; nice because I can use the same toolchains and repos as my dev teams.
And BC *can* diff PDFs almost as well as Acrobat (in some cases better), so long as you're ok with it having scraped all the text out of it to do so. Which may or may not be what you want, but in that case, y not just diff the source.

Absolutely. #mAbs are a net plus, certainly for the person. -

@_tt_ @ahlI was going to ask if you were referring to YKK, that company that seems to make almost all of the world's zippers.
You're talking about something else, but I wonder...
What other #bottlenecks or #SinglePointOfFailure's are there? The cables on the ocean floor that carry internet signals: I think there are only three or four, right? Or there is an underwater rock formation of the west coast of Africa that's waiting to break and create a tsunami.

@failedLyndonLaRouchite @AnarchistArt I don’t mind hating on rich people, but my problem with this post is that we shouldn’t be joking about/celebrating the death of innocent people #trashy

@failedLyndonLaRouchite @funnel
While trying to prove a very different point, i accidentally created an illustration of part of why large numbers of deaths get ignored.
This is #COVIDdeaths in the #USA (as of a few months ago) measures in #September11s
When there's so many, they blur into something much less shocking?
Seems redundant to mark as sensitive, since it's already blurred?

@failedLyndonLaRouchite @funnel
but sometimes it is ignored by #dehumanising or at least othering, the dead… which is far more terrifying.

It is important to note… "Use of #antibacterial soap showed little added benefit compared with use of nonantibacterial #soap."
Take home: There is NO need to add antibacterial agents to soap for basic #InfectionControl at home or in public places. More important that that you "just DO it" [wash your hands] than choosing a brand/formula of soap.
…and...
"Hand hygiene is clearly effective against #gastrointestinal and, to a lesser extent, #respiratory infections."
Take home: This makes sense! #GI #infections are typically "fecal/oral" (I don't have to go into what that means!). The hands are the most likely route of infection. Wash them!
#Influenza can be transmitted by touching surfaces. #COVID19 less so. So again the above makes sense.
Hope this Helps!

I just did a partial search focusing on #HandWashing in the #community setting.
First thing to note is these articles are mostly indexed under #HandHygiene.
Next thing is there are many hits on various aspects on nursing and hospitals.
Filtering for the above I found several articles showing benefit, typical results…
"Meta-analyses to generate pooled rate ratios across interventions (N=30 studies). Improvements in hand hygiene resulted in reductions in gastrointestinal illness of 31% (95% confidence intervals [CI]=19%, 42%) and reductions in respiratory illness of 21% (95% CI=5%, 34%). The most beneficial intervention was hand-hygiene education with use of #nonantibacterial #soap. Use of antibacterial soap showed little added benefit compared with use of nonantibacterial soap. Hand hygiene is clearly effective against gastrointestinal and, to a lesser extent, respiratory infections." (2008)

@failedLyndonLaRouchite the arguments about #goldenRice are by no means over. …and I’m old enough to have moved from unthinking & naive enthusiasm for #Borlaug’s #GreenRevolution, to the realisation that in the context of food system resilience, nutrient poor, nitrogen demanding, high yielding hybrid cereals have been a disaster for feeding the world. #diversity & #agroecology based #regenerative #agriculture free of #FossilFuel dependence is the only hope for feeding future generations.
