Wow, lots of work went into the new Plasma 6.6. Good job, people!
Spectacle gets text recognition.
You can connect to wifi networks using your camera and showing a QR code.

@dusoft thanks for the feedback! I will see what I can do to speed things up. But the plugin has to somehow prepare things for federation.
(and don't blame #automattic, they are so generous to support us in our work! If anyone is to blame, it's me!)

Interesting effort. My Raspberry Pi Robot Carl has been using
https://github.com/XavierBerger/RPi-Monitor
for the last six years. I use the dials/graphs overview, and the selectable range battery voltage graph frequently.

@dusoft @Alt Text Hall of Fame I'd still like to take all existing image-describing AIs and pit them against my own pictures. And then against the descriptions I've researched and written manually.
I don't buy the idea that an AI can (out)do in a few seconds what took me over 13 hours. See here. Sorry, no Mastodon link because nobody on Mastodon has replied to that post. But you might be able to find it by searching for the hashtag #OSFest2023. -
Relays either don't work or they don't work as intended, e.g. I don't think I have started getting more responses or likes since I followed one. On the other hand it poisons my tag boosts artificially increasing their number.

Computer-assisted development using LLMs - another random tip:
1) Check your error log daily (as you would with your own code), e.g. Laravel log or similar
2) And fix bugs as they appear.
3) Your goal is to have a log without any exceptions bubbling up to the log.
Au contraire - all exceptions will be caught and properly handled - leaving only items your app actually logs. -

Sury's PPAs at Launchpad by @ubuntu seem to be finally working after 72+ hours of downtime:
Get:5 https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/ondrej/apache2/ubuntu noble InRelease [24.3 kB]
Hit:6 https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/ondrej/php/ubuntu noble InRelease
Get:7 https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/ondrej/apache2/ubuntu noble/main amd64 Packages [2312 B]
Get:8 https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/ondrej/apache2/ubuntu noble/main Translation-en [2032 B]Time to mirror these locally, so this grand, tragic single point of open source distribution failure never repeats!

Launchpad is down and the whole system with it. E.g. packages like Sury's PHP are down as well without any proper mirrors or replacement. Critics of Bluesky single central server, where are you now? Maybe open source is not that open source, when no mirrored sources available...
