Really, quite a number of audience members seemed very taken by the concert. I'm heartened that there are still audiences for choral music (and not just friends and family). Sometimes I look out at the audience and it seems it's just old people and when they pass on there will be no audiences for choral music.
Well, the day went very well despite my anticipatory fatigue -- and I also think I'm a little under the weather on top of it all.
But the Cantiamo Sonoma concert was excellent, I would say. At least, the audience really seemed to love it. And it will be interesting to listen to the recording, because I *feel* like we actually did very well with staying on pitch and not going flat (the bane of so, so many choirs). And honestly many of the pieces reached the level of truly making music, not just getting the notes and rhythm and text right.
And now I am TRULY wiped out, am going to happily vegetate, don't have to set an alarm for tomorrow, and let's see how motivated I am tomorrow or whether I maybe just take it as a day of recuperation.
