  6. From now on, I don't want you thinking, "Ah, man, my boss is forcing me to use AI!" Instead, I want you to think, "Oh, no! My boss is forcing me to become an unfuckable Nazi!"

Because that is what you are when you use AI.

It doesn't FEEL like what you're doing is aiding fascism, but you are. It doesn't feel like you're harming all of humanity, but you are.

If your boss made you wear an SS Uniform to work, would you quit?

Well, your AI is showing.Stop embarrassing yourself and say no.

  7. Call your representatives, and let them know that if they vote against the Abolish Super Pacs Bill, that the American people will hold them personally responsible for fascism, and there will never again be a day that they have a pleasant interaction with a citizen. We will spend our lives reminding them that THEY are to blame for all of America's ills, and we will never, for a moment, let them forget it, and there will always be someone else to take our place in hating them. So vote yes.

  8. ...I'm too old for this shit, and I honestly don't know if it's fun for me anymore. But theatre is IMPORTANT. And so I'm doing it anyway. Because it MUST be done. It's part of our humanity.

I would love it if everyone went to support their local theatres this year. Make a plan, make it happen--go ahead and buy your tickets, and spend the money, so you can feel good about helping to keep theatre alive, and will see why it's worth it.

  9. the late night variety format held down the fort.

Seeing everyone who worked on the show come out on stage at the end, and knowing that these people are representative of all of entertainment--all of their jobs lost in one fell swoop. Colbert will also likely have a podcast--that seems to be de rigeur--with a crew of like, three. All of us, alone and talking to ourselves.

I'm putting on my own variety show in about a week. I'm stressed, it will likely lose money, (2)

  10. I'm so sad about the end of Colbert's show. Not exactly for Stephen, because he'll be a hot item whatever he does next. But I've found it really depressing the way that podcasts are now what has taken over for sitcom stars, and that now late night is crumbling...

The sitcom and Late Night the are the television formats that bring THEATRE into people's homes. The collaborative, "We're all in the same space at the same time" shows. Sitcoms had already moved away from the live audience, but (1)

  11. I bet giving every citizen land they own and instilling environmental protections will eradicate cancer before the tech companies.

  12. Does anyone know where I can get one of those paid protester gigs the right is always talking about?

  13. If you are in a creative field, I would really like to encourage you to not just do work online in a niche arena, but also to do some stuff in your local community, for the general public.

These are entirely different skills. And knowing how to do the latter will keep you in touch, keep your community connected, and show you how to translate niche ideas to a wider audience.

I worry that the artists are being siloed.

  14. Let me tell you, as a broke-ass person, why it's bad for tech companies to charge people who make more money more for goods:

Because it ultimately makes us all equally poor, and then we cannot help each other. It exasperates the need to rely on tech for everything. If your richer friend, who sees what is happening to you in this massive labor turnover wants to help you with your groceries, or take you in, they can't.

They're going to take advantage of egalitarian leanings to sell it.

  15. I have never been so turned on in my life. This man has single-handedly revived my libido.

Watch the whole thing. Good change is coming:)

  16. Do you make less than $100,000 in California? Then you need to vote for Katie Porter, because she's campaigning on eliminating income tax for you and taxing the wealthy.

That alone should be enough for everyone to be voting for her. That alone will help the income gap a lot, and will give you thousands of dollars more a year, and make your paycheck more predictable.
