Our log ingest has finally caught up, it looks like the home.social site has been effectively DOS'ing us since the 17th with between 100,000 and 500,000 hits per 12 hours.
Given the entire site seems (Unless a #mastoadmin can tell me otherwise) a giant scraper that I've just missed up to now we're going to probably just block the IP and user agent and hopefully that'll see the site get significantly more stable.
I am hoping the stability issues here on #Universeodon are now resolved. I've had to increase our web capacity by around 3 times compared to what it was before. We are still seeing around 3-4 times more traffic and connections compared to MastodonAppUK which is a bit concerning as I'm not convinced it's "Legit" traffic.
I'm having some issues getting our Nginx logs into our observability cluster which I need to get to the bottom of to see if this is bot / scraper traffic but I'm hoping the work I've done this evening should stop the 500 errors.
