The EU Kids Act is really *really* nasty and dark. It mandates that many service providers refuse service to anyone who doesn't share a government ID (e.g. passport, biometrics) or their identity in some similar way. It explicitly includes things like communication platforms, audio/video calls, video sharing, etc.
The excuse, as always, is "to protect children": anyone who doesn't share their identity is considered a Kid, and must be protected from interacting with other humans.

I heard something along the lines of "if LLMs can generate code for anyone, FOSS is dead", but I can't help think the opposite: if LLMs really reach a point where anyone can self-generate their own programs, proprietary software is dead.
