@waxbanks okay ill print the PDFs thanks for the feedback. It is not the first time I read about the thumb buttons being a bit far on the #zsamoonlander. I also have not the biggest hands for sure. Also I wasn't planing on getting that metal tenting kit, which is another 100 bucks at least... but yea. Does such a kit not exist for the voyager?

@waxbanks So if I mainly want one for stationary use, you would recommend to go with the #zsamoonlander instead? I have no preference for flat switches.

Neil Ardley
KALEIDOSCOPE OF RAINBOWS (1976)i said nearly 7 years ago:
‘tightly conceived maybe-partly-#aleatoric-by-the-sound-of-it psychedelic funk/jazz/#prog #fusion… distinct from Ardley’s New Jazz Orchestra stuff… Snobs wouldn’t mark the opener ‘experimental’ but it’s that: ten minutes of relentlessly fractalizing Crimson-style mathematical #architecture…which bursts cinematically into #funk-#blues colours (etc)’

me, labor day:
'...reminded that Joss #Whedon did the best, most perfectly realized work of his life while balancing three #TV shows... the show might’ve fallen down without... his most gifted male performer, the fucking #Canadian Nathan Fillion, who gave the performance of his life in a role as rich as #Buffy Summers... The fact that this show existed at all is one of its fallen medium’s rare #blessings; the fact of its cancellation is just another fucking crime...'

evidently writing an #introduction is the thing:
i'm wally holland, a writer in #cambridgeMA. i'm largely bald despite, or because of, my enormous wisdom. i write docs at a tech co nearby (job) and write books about this and that (calling) and am a semicompetent husband/father (purpose).
current work: i'm most of a decade into a long, difficult, rewarding mss about antirationalism and #highweirdness--hoping to finish next year.

listened to miles’s AURA for the first time. almost feels like a novelty album—a thoroughly Respectable euro-chamber outing that happens to have miles davis on trumpet. initially intriguing, but i’m unlikely to give it much thought in future. still, it’s nice to know there’s more than one interesting post-hiatus miles davis album.

Philomena #Cunk explains sexual reproduction: ‘millions of plucky young tadpoles…swim their way up the female pipework toward an egg, and then kamikaze into it like a tiny 9/11 happening up a lady’
nothing can take this away from us.

WILDFLOWERS: The New York Loft Jazz Sessions (1976)
an incredible document: 5 LPs of wandering avant-#jazz tracks from Sam Rivers’s Studio Rivbea space in NoHo, emphasis on free-associative logics—social, imaginative, melodic, emotional—so even the further-out abstractions generate pulse with or without beat, and the accessible groove tracks build up a lot of goodwill-capital that the weird ones happily burn and burn and burn.

just watched 12 ANGRY MEN for the first time. predictable and wonderful—an unexpectedly stirring defense of humility and democracy. afterward, talked briefly w/my son about the postwar liberal consensus. another day, another hopefully-not-a-lecture. #dadproblems #waxflix

as for #shakespeare, while #HaroldBloom was quite mad, i really admire the passion and candor of his ‘bardolatry’ and enjoy his writing on the plays waaaaay out of proportion to their analytical value (analytical ≠ ‘critical’ of course)
whatever else he was, bloom was the #JulianJaynes of his field, which i dig

that said, in addition to Ian Leslie’s excellent essays about #mccartney and #GetBack, i recently enjoyed rob sheffield’s book DREAMING THE BEATLES, which says very very little about the music itself and seems to get some fundamental aspects of the band’s later history just wrong, but which is far and away the best treatment of the #beatles as a **girls’ phenomenon** (his loving, empathetic chapter on ‘The Scream’ is worth the cover price all on its own)

np: Agitation Free, 2ND
krautrock noodling for the spaceways, what’s not to love? well *actually*—comparisons to the good ol’ GD don’t seem right to me since the germans (even the groovy ones) tend to favour martial-machinic repetition and the contrast effects it affords over inner-frontier pseudopodia, i.e. even the swing beats on this album feel like oompah music. instead of the flying saucer, the v-2. i could very happily listen to it all day (and not realize it). #waxtrax
