  5. It’s almost the end of the year but not too late to get your company to support the free software it uses. Maybe they don’t have an easy way to donate to individuals, but I’ll bet they have education budget that never really gets used up and has a clear and easy approval process. And a lot of your favorite open source contributors write books, or publish lessons. I know you’ve heard them talk about it. You don’t have to read it; though I bet it’s great.
