    @dborch Schade, dass der Beitrag nicht erwähnt, dass eine Variante von #Eliza heute noch mit dem legendären Texteditor GNU Emacs von @rms ausgeliefert wird. Eine parodistische Therapiesitzung startet man darin mit ALT-x doctor ENTER. Mit Hilfe der App Termux funktioniert das sogar auf meinem Android-Wischgerät.

    Every month, we collect every event that happened within Aptivi, our projects, and other interesting tech news. This issue shows you the brief summary of our project releases and some of our most articles posted on the Aptivi Blog and on the Newsroom, as well as some links to other interesting resources, such as the most intriguing tech news during the month.

    As technology evolves quickly, we have to move quickly with the current to make sure that we don’t miss any of the interesting technology-related events, such as new releases and other interesting events that revolutionize the tech world.

    What’s popular this month?

    During this month, sets of events have happened at Aptivi, and we have chosen to summarize some of the most popular events that we have covered here at Aptivi Blog and Aptivi Newsroom, as well as other Aptivi updates in case they happen.

    The top ten most popular articles published this month were:

    Samsung has reportedly started development of the software for the upcoming Galaxy S27 series, which was rumored to bring changes to the outer design of the device. As Samsung was late in pushing the August 2026 security patch, we made an article stating that it would land to the Galaxy devices. The beta program of One UI 9.0 also went on, with an announcement that One UI 9.0 Beta 5 would be released.

    During August, Linux 7.2 Release Candidates 6 and 7 were both released on two respective Mondays, followed by the stable release, while we tested the Apple Rhapsody DR2 and the B-right/V operating systems on an emulated 86Box machine with two different machine types. We’ve also spotted some developer who managed to run Windows 10 on the Galaxy S9+ with the help of Claude AI, spotted Samsung releasing a Sound Assistant update that brought support for One UI 9.0, and installed the official Google Chrome browser on a Termux environment within Android.

    Of course, there were so many events that happened this August, but we’ve summarized the above ten articles, sorted by popularity in the number of viewers. You can see the rest of our summaries in the weekly digests below for more information.

    Weekly digests

    During this month, we have issued the weekly digests we have posted at the end of each week on Saturdays, as well as weekly summarizations of each Linux release.

    Please note that the order of events are listed in the descending order from the newest to the oldest.

    Summary

    This month, Aptivi had confirmed the existence of MediaBoom by releasing the first announcement to the Aptivi Blog, ended support for Terminaux versions v6.1 and v7.0 to continue development of the long-term version 8.x series, released Terminaux version 8.7 to bring breaking changes related to the commands subsystem in the shell function, and tested various IBM OS/2 Warp and Microsoft OS/2 Warp versions from the v1.x series, which were vast. Additionally, we’ve announced releases for new versions of our projects as they became available to the public while steadily working on both Nitrocid and MediaBoom as other libraries were being worked on.

    In the other hand, Samsung finished expanding the July 2026 security patch to a variety of devices, such as the Galaxy A56 and various Galaxy tablets, and Google rolled out the July 2026 Google Play System Update to Galaxy phones as August started. They prepared the August 2026 security update for various devices, but the rollout didn’t start until the end of August, which was when Samsung rolled out the security patch to a wide range of Galaxy devices during the last days of August.

    They also started working on One UI 9 Watch for older smartwatches, such as those released in 2023 and 2022, to ensure that they qualify for the system update, with it being the final system update for the Galaxy Watch5 before it becomes the second Wear OS Samsung watch that no longer gets system updates. While the Galaxy smartwatches received the July and the August security patch updates, Samsung started the beta program for the Galaxy Watch8, which updated this smartwatch to One UI 9.0 Watch for those who chose to join the beta program in both the US and in Korea.

    When it comes to the new foldables, which are the Galaxy Z Fold8, Fold8 Ultra, and Flip8, they were released to the general markets on August 6th, alongside the Galaxy Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 smartwatches that also received their first security patch to make them more secure. Samsung also started sending invites to take a look at the Galaxy Event 2026, which started on August 27th that focused on revealing the Galaxy S26 FE and its camera features, such as My FanCam and Horizontal Lock.

    Outside Samsung, Linux 7.2 completed its release candidate cycle by releasing the fifth, the sixth, and the seventh release candidate, followed by the stable release that brought many improvements that were made to different components of the kernel, such as networking, graphics, sound, and more. Then, Linux 7.3 started its preparations for the first release candidate that was set to release by the end of August, and FreeBSD 15.4 saw its first beta release, which continued with the second and the third beta versions that brought improvements over the first beta, followed by the release candidate.

    We also celebrated the twenty-fifth anniversary for the Windows XP operating system, which was one of Microsoft’s most important milestones that combined both the classic era and the modern era of computing, and made a good mark in the history of computers. After two years of hiatus, Haiku R1 Beta 6 was finally released with many enhancements made over the fifth beta, which was released in 2024.

    Finally, we witnessed Rhythmbox v3.5 making its way to the general public, followed by version v3.5.1, to bring improved lyrics support, improved music backend, support for lyrics embedded in Bandcamp FLAC files, and various fixes related to ReplayGain. We also saw an official release of Ubuntu 26.04.1 LTS Resolute Raccoon to enable upgrades from Ubuntu 24.04 LTS in a later time. We also saw Google rolling out the updated design for the Gemini overlay for the Galaxy smartwatches, which provided more flexibility and consistency over the previous design.
