AST SpaceMobile has announced plans to build its own rockets following delays with third-party partners like Blue Origin.
The company signed a $1.3 billion agreement with Firefly Aerospace for 27 Miranda and 9 Vira engines to power its first three Blacklift rockets, expected to launch in late 2028.
Meanwhile, the goal of 45 operational satellites by late 2026 will be missed with only 13 currently in orbit.
