A personal story: My team was never bigger than right now and we have even another open position, first internal only.
I think technology company are a bit hyped for everything and it's and never really were correct. And this leads to over hiring and reducing employees again because the nature of economics come back from time to time.
AI won't disappear and we engineers need to understand the value and benefits of it. I think in general we don't know what is true about it because the market and technology is over hyped. As a suggestion to not learn a company product: use open source, because it will stay.
Companies will be acquired or stopped or the product closed after acquisition. It's not valuable for the long run to use claude or whatever is "cool" today. Use #opensource
