Tried installing Gentoo for lulz. I did my best to follow instructions but when all was said and done, though I had a supposedly working Gnome setup, there was no audio and I was too tired to care about figuring out why and making it work. Oh also my user apparently didn't have permission to shut off the computer? That option wasn't there for me. Very weird.
All pretty humbling, but I feel like I did a pretty good job getting as far as I did.
That seems to be the thing though: when you *do* hit a serious snag, you're too burnt out to want to deal with fixing it.
Maybe another time.
