12/X thankfully it turned out that it is actually a strain that is susceptible against everything. While it was a relief on one side, I started to become quite angry on my way home. Sure great I finally can sleep in my own bed, I don't have to go through the hell of hardcore organ damaging antibiotics... But it became clear to me what apparently went wrong.
First the hospital in #karlsruhe did seem to have taken the samples for the microbiology two days after the operation, thus the delay. They didn't seem to have done a blood culture at all which would have been important to monitor if bacteria are in the blood stream and if there is a risk of sepsis or other abscess forming. This is actually quite vital. At least from my book knowledge.... You do God damn imaging to rule out if there are multiple abscesses. Finally discharging me without either a day off antibiotics to see if swelling returns or having the antibiogram so I could take oral antibiotics at home is a big no no and really makes me angry.
Coz what happened? 3 days later I'm back in a clinic coz the swelling returned.
Okay while #heidelberg is my employer and I really like it there as a patient and a employee... Nothing of what happened was required and at least in my perception it's a terrible level of care.
