    Re-upping this - I am trying to help out someone who is being harassed via Opentable. I can't really go into much more detail than that without giving away info, but it's all as a direct result of some security decisions made there, and I'd like to speak with someone at the company about the practices that have allowed this, and also helping in this specific case.

    Second of all: Washington State Patrol once again sent out an Amber Alert with a Bitly link, but this time the link goes to an auth-gated Facebook page.

    Once again - Government safety alerts are public property. Not Meta, or Bitly, or any other business’s property. Make this illegal.

  9. This reminds me of a forensics case I worked a while back (also based in the UK), that was the basis of the Digital Forensic Diaries story Revenge on the Wire.

    In that case, the perp used their prior access that hadn't been disabled properly to start sending out push notifications.
