I experimentally verified that the same Yubikey works from a different device with the same PIN, and it’s not some behind-the-scenes Google syncing going on because I’m not signed in on Chromium.
So basically … they renamed “password” to “PIN” and the input field is now part of the browser UI instead of the website?

Chromium’s “passkey” UI is confusing me.
I either need to enter a PIN when I enroll a Yubikey, or I can do "save on USB device". I suppose that is FIDO2 Discoverable Crendentials, and I don’t want to use it because I’d burn through those slots too quickly, I want U2F. Does PIN use that?
But if I enter a PIN, then now I need to enter it every single time which is annoying, and also, what is saved where? Is my “passkey” tied to this browser or can I now use my Yubikey to log in elsewhere?
