  1. @RogueAmoeba Follow-up for others experiencing the same issue with #AudioHijack: in recent* macOS versions we got a new “Mic Mode” widget (support.apple.com/guide/mac-he) for certain audio sources, that lets you choose what usage to optimize for such like voice etc. It seems that Audio Hijack is considered a compatible audio source and thus you get to choose between “Standard” and “Voice Isolation” and wouldn’t you know it: if the latter is set all signal flowing through an Audio Hijack session is monoized 🤯

For some reason my Mac was set to Voice Isolation and once I switched back to Standard things were back to glorious stereo 🔊 🔊

    *Apparently as of macOS 12

  6. @RogueAmoeba Also worth pointing out that, if I wasn’t an experienced Mac troubleshooter who knows about force-quitting #coreaudiod and #systemsoundserverd in #ActivityMonitor, I would have no choice but to reboot my Mac in order to get things working right. That's just wrong. One of the main reasons for the very existence of #macOS is that our devices don't have to be rebooted all the time. Yet either you know all kinds of obscure workarounds or you have no choice but to reboot.

  11. #RogueAgent from #IFCFilms on #Hulu is a well-acted docudrama of real events that border on the absurd.

I saw the #Netflix #docuseries, #ThePuppetMaster: #HuntingTheUltimate Conman which focused on the university students, and that part of the story is truly surreal.

I can understand how people can be fooled, but not at all how people allow themselves to be so thoroughly manipulated for so long.

It's an interesting movie, and #Wikipedia affirms he's in custody again as of October 2022.

  12. workflow:
@RogueAmoeba to make a FLAC of the song
    • airdrop into Pro+ app for slowing down sections and marking up the file
app to make a Nashville chart
@ambulephabus app to gather my chart PDFs and annotate if necessary

    AMA!🤘

  13. Glad to see that someone at @RogueAmoeba is paying attention. Problem fixed in the latest round of updates. (Didn’t just affect #Loopback, I guess.) toot.community/@betalogue/1111

  14. The 11th game of #WebGamesAdvent is RATS - #RoguesAmongTheStars. It has a fun concept - play a thief that teleports between #fantasy spaceships - but the implementation didn't get far beyond just a clone of #RuneStar due to the time limitation of #7DRL.

  15. The other night we watched the 2022 movie Rogue Agent, based on true events (spice up a bit of course). Wow.

It's an absolute tour de force for actor James Norton, a real flex of his acting skills. How can such a sweet face hide so much malevolence? Quite easily, it seems. Gemma Arterton brilliant as the woman scorned.

  17. Being a #HamRadio guy who plays with all the audio bits-n-bobs, I've been using #RogueAmoeba #Loopback for several months, under #macOS #Monterey to combine the Mac's audio with the input from a USB mixer. Allows me to listen to whatever plugs into the mixer, broadcast and ham, with the #AirPods ...

  18. Is there an equivalent to Rogue Amoeba's Audio Hijack for macOS, but for video?

I suppose OBS could do it, but is there something specific to the task?

  20. I missed the announcement of the new 2 from . The changes hit some features I do appreciate — but I would have been 100% onboard with this upgrade if it had direct support for tracks and an iPad client (or iPad version).
