  1. CW: ladybird browser, css (unrelated to politics/drama)

welp, x86css is no longer a chrome-only demo

as of today, ladybird became the second browser to implement enough css to be able to run my css-only x86 emulator!!

i guess it is a real browser now!

(as an aside - i am aware of the politics and stuff around ladybird, which is why i don't generally feel comfortable talking about the browser publicly. at the same time i do find the project exciting and impressive, and i think it's worth it to share the news this time.)

  6. my real-world use case for this is in a chat client i'm working on - profile popovers are anchor-positioned to their messages, so when one gets deleted its popover jumps into the corner

i could solve this using some hacky js, but i'm wondering if there's a nicer css solution

  7. hii css experts - what is the best way to retain the position of anchor-positioned elements when their anchor disappears (e.g. due to display:none)
