  1. Unrelated to us, chrismoos has just released what looks like a rather comprehensive implementation of the CDMA2000 1x cellular system as open source. From a SDR PHY through RAN to CN. It includes the signaling plane, circuit swithced calls, messaging (SMSC) and packet (IP) data.

  4. Make VoWiFi calls from an open source client using asterisk: osmocom.org/news/297 - osmocom main contributor @sysmocom has recently released a forked version of asterisk that can be used to make VoWiFi calls using nothing but FOSS, a smart card reader and a SIM card.
