  1. I was gifted these at LFNW this year. Made my day. 🤣👍

  2. But if people want to play politics - they support (and which is built on infrastructure) that it funded by and their head of Linux support Matt Hartley used to appear on podcasts with Brian ! They also ship their laptops through China!

It's easy to go down these rabbit holes, but I do believe framework should address this properly

  3. Linux desktop voice control has a gap. Talon costs money. Other tools are X11-only or cloud-dependent.

    So I built EasySpeak.

    - Fully local — no cloud, no accounts
    - Wayland-native
    - "Hey Jarvis, open downloads"

Built for RSI, accessibility, or anyone who wants to talk to their computer.

  4. @matthartley @brandont

Yeah, that one is looking awfully Doc Oc, but Bezos is richer than he is smart, so maybe more of a ? ;)

  5. @matthartley

    Nice!

One data point though - #Talon does have a free version. It's the evolving beta which costs money.

  11. @matthartley I'm working on a device where voice control would be a nice add-on, but I am unlikely to use Wayland. Maybe not even X11 - I might end up using direct framebuffer output. Is there a chance your software could be made to output whatever it thinks it heard to STDOUT or to a TCP port one could connect to, for further processing?

    The project in question:

  12. I am super impressed! The battery life on my #Framework laptop running #Fedora40 seems to be at least 130% compared to #Fedora39! 😍

💕 Kudos to @matthartley and the whole #Linux team at @frameworkcomputer, together with the @fedora community! 🚀

  13. Matt Hartley (FreedomPenguin.com) put available a nice Linux t-shirt!

    5 colors to choose from.

He thinks this artwork represents something users of all Linux distros can appreciate.

This campaign supports the Linux distro review show, For The Record.

Wearing one of these shirts demonstrates to everyone around you that you’re a FoSS supporter, care about Free/Open Source Software.

Both US & EU/UK options available.

  14. So I set up this camera to watch birds and hummingbirds that have been coming around the bird bath and I have discovered that there are a number of different types of birds that visit.

Additionally, there's a hummingbird that visits which is equally cool. I'll basically thread this and share it here.

  15. For those curious, this is in my backyard. I'm just using a cheapo camera that is set to ridiculously high motion sensing stuff and seems to be working and this was on a rainy day so the summer out would be interesting.

  16. LinuxFest Northwest 2020 has the best CoC of all CoCs.

Bryan Lunduke and Matt Hartley talked about it:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9THsSH-dP8

Seriously, we got to the point that we need to write this down...

Watch the video, because the webdesigner decided it's not important to create a single webpage for it, just a popup something, so we can't link it.

    Disgusting:

I think we should just copy this, adapt it to events, project, etc.
