Yesterday I wanted to work on a patch for R, instead I ended up updating a 9 year old package up to current repository recommendations (lots of sapply() removed).
Today I'll start with the patch for R, and I hope I can have one patch per week. There are several documentation issues that are relatively easy to fix if someone dedicates some time. For example extracting all the code from .texi files that have the R manuals so that it can be checked if it (still) runs.
