Sure, it was used for good reasons for a while, this has helped pushing back on sits, calling out awful people… it was really something back then but you can see now how it's been flipped against us and people behind AI and big tech, the tech bros, are not using the same bad faith to justify their bad stuff 🤷

It's akin to callng "privileges" on others for whatever reason you deem is OK to basically dismiss all the efforts they put into things. Because you have privilege, your efforts if you have put any of it into something are rendered invisible.

And your arguments against it are seen as gatekeeping because "fuck it why not". Then, you're made invisible even more.

and to that, I'll cite that person I've met a year ago telling me she did not understand why she "had to understand how the things work and how to play instruments" and "just wanted the machine to listen to her feelings and transmit them", I asked her "wouldn't that be cheating" and she said that "she did not have the talent", and I said "it's just hard and long work and it feels you want it all now".

And guess what she told me next, yes, I was "gatekeeping" because "I had the talent".
