Tested this morning, and the main two relatively minor drawbacks are:
1. Have to register each card or device separately - even if tied to the same card.
2. You can't register in advance. You have to tap to travel first, then link the card to concession status.
The refund of up to $2.85 on the first day of travel is automatic if linked on the same day, but will take weeks to be returned.
