  1. I've got a busy few weeks ahead, so expect shorter newsletters like this. Perhaps I should be doing more at this length more often? Eh, I'll think on it.

    Excited for Tuesday!

  2. One thing is clear, the Apple Home app desperately needs a redesign built around the HomeView UI.

  3. Don't give up hope on a portable HomeView. Third-party accessories will give you what you want.

  4. I've considered buying smart photo frames for well over $100, smart calendars for nearing $200, a pixel display that shows now playing music artwork for $200, etc. This stuff is all single purpose.

HomeView at $300 is fine. Like with HomePods, just buy one every now and then to fill out the home.

  5. Will be implementing this in the den since I already have two gen-two HomePods. Doing this in the living room will require over $1,000 worth of gear though. Ugh

  7. In case there was confusion, I mean to say that cameras, robotic vacuums, and some presence sensors can map out your home and put that information on the internet, which Raven can utilize.

    Madness

  12. Idk, do what you want. It's the hypocrisy in the actions, the doubling down, the defensiveness of those actions that make it so disappointing and weird on top of going back to a website filled with people who want you and your friends dead.

Plenty of people use X and don't write missives on it.

  13. Have we considered AI psychosis is so bad that it lets people more easily violate their moral values? Or is it that AI has emboldened people to express their worst tendencies because of an erosion of their humanity?

That these people are so broken they mistake likes and follows for admiration?

  14. Also, wtf do AI people talk about that they are so desperate for more attention? I see plenty of AI discussion on Bluesky and I don't even follow people for that. None of these excuses make any sense to me.

  15. Probably worth considering that "friendly and inclusive" isn't worth mentioning if it needs disclaimers about your race, sex, gender, religion, or sexual orientation to have that experience.

  16. If you're that desperate for the social media posts made by Apple executive social media managers to accounts with the names of executives attached to them, the Apple newsroom has a fake social media feed with all of that content in one space. No Nazi's required.
